Who saw us out and about last weekend, then?

We're not going to tell you all what we were up to quite yet, but let's say something very exciting is being cooked up.

Next month, there's some brilliant companies doing some brilliant work in Hastings, so we thought we'd shout about them in today's newsletter.

Remember to contact us before the last Friday of the month if you have something you'd like us to feature the following month.

If you have little ones (and even some bigger ones), make sure to pop down to Pebble Road and the Pond People, which is the first show Spun Glass Theatre are making exclusively for Stade Hall. It's recommended for all the family, and promises magic, music, and a little bit of mayhem.

Performances are at 2.30pm and 5pm on Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th August, and tickets are Pay What You Can from £4-£14.

Later in the month, locally-based company Prologue Opera are bringing their show Becoming Tosca back to Hastings after a sold-out run in 2024. Performed at the Stables Theatre on 26th and 27th August, and with music by none other than composer extraordinaire Frank Moon, the evening will be one of "revolution, romance and tragedy" and, well, those are all things worth making a journey for in our book.

Finally, a shout out to the White Rock Theatre who recently launched their brand-new space Studio 27 (half of Studio 54 numerically, but just as good). The venue have said that this will be a space for hosting new artists and their work, and there's already lots of exciting things on their books. There's big things happening in Hastings right now, and this launch is an important part of this movement.

Anyway, we hope you have a lovely summer break if you're taking one, and enjoy some time by the sunny sea anyway even if you're not.

There's already loads brewing for September which we intend to shout about (including work from members of our DFL team Tom Messmer and Bev Lee Harling), so get that rest while you can!
