Yes, we know, we didn't send a newsletter last month. In our defence it's been a very busy time for us personally and professionally and, given the Arts Council has been in the midst of chaos for the past few months and funding is as hard - if not harder - to come by than it's ever been, we're having to carve out time for HTP from our already-busy schedules.

What's worse is that we had actually written a newsletter, but in the chaos of Christmas we for some reason forgot to publish. So apologies to those we were going to shout out. We're sure the rest of you saw all their work anyway!

January is a slightly quiet month for theatre in Hastings so we're not doing a normal shout-out newsletter this time around. But read on to see how you can help us out in 2026.

Audience Survey

Some of you OG newsletter subscribers will remember that we started an audience survey to learn more about theatregoing in Hastings a couple of years back.

Initial findings have been interesting to say the least but we're still gathering responses! If you haven't filled it in yet, please do so in order to allow us to learn more about audiences in Hastings, which is information that can do wonders when applying for funding! It shouldn't take longer than five minutes, we promise.

We want to hear from YOU!

Meanwhile, we're dreaming up what might come next and would love to hear from our community about what you might like to see /hear/learn from us this year and beyond.

HTP is nothing without the brilliant community of audiences, artists and participants we work with, so please do tell us what you'd like to see us doing more or less of in 2026.

Which leaves us to say: we wish you all the best for 2026. We might even (hopefully, maybe) have news to share at some point in the coming months about further plans & projects. But let's see.
